In this context, Core Beliefs are
thoughts and beliefs, usually developed in childhood, that no longer
serve us. They are those limiting, sabotaging beliefs that we
can easily refute analytically but that nonetheless govern our
behavior. They are programmed onto our mental hard drive, even
though we look at them and say "I know this isn’t really
true!" Some examples of Core Beliefs are "I can’t be
successful doing work I love" "Life is hard" "I’m not good
enough" "I’m always late" "If I really follow my heart
then no one will love me". Any limiting belief falls into this
category. It might be an interesting exercise to keep track of
the things you hear yourself say for a week, noting all the negative
comments of this sort that come out of your mouth. It may
surprise you!
In a Core Belief session, which
can be done on the phone or in person, we "reprogram" the part of
your subconscious mind that maintains these beliefs. You
release the old beliefs and replace them with new ones. It is
typically a one-time session with lasting results. The results
are sometimes automatic, with no further thought on your part, and
sometimes require conscious choices. Most changes are built
and maintained one choice at a time. The specifics of those
choices will be clear once you have completed the
session.
