Feeling stuck? Yeah, me too.
Here’s a conversation I just had with myself in my head. I gave myeslf a great reminder!
Me: Aargh, I just can’t figure out what to do to move forward.
Also me: What are you trying to accomplish?
Me: Anything!
Also me: OK, but really. What are you trying to accomplish right now?
Me: At this moment I’m trying to write a blog post. But I also need to —
Also me: Here’s what you need to do. You need to settle. You need to shut out the noise. Listen to the still, small voice of your intuition. Be quiet. Allow stillness. Just STOP the treadmill for a minute.
Breathe.
Feel your body. Come back into yourself. Notice your feet on the ground or your butt on the chair. Notice the temperature, the feeling in your chest or belly.
As Pierre Teilhard de Chardin said, we are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience. You are a spark of light. Like every single soul, a piece of the infinite incarnated to experience this life.
The wise, calm part of you — the part that is connected to the divine — always knows what to do.
It’s so easy to allow our focus to be external, because there are so many external demands on us. When we lose sight of our center, who we really are, it can feel impossible to know which way to turn.
So after you get quiet, you ask this question: What is the very next step.
That’s it.
What is the very next step?
It can be both tempting and overwhelming to look beyond that. We have established that there is a vision/goal/plan. So now we trust… What is the next step?
Stop. Close your eyes. Sit. Breathe. Deliberately relax. Ask that still, small voice inside you: what is the very next step?
If your very next step leads you to want to develop your ability to take up space, own a room, speak your truth and communicate authentically, please reach out to schedule a session.
